Fair Trade is a strategy for poverty alleviation and sustainable development. Its purpose is to create opportunities for producers who have been economically disadvantaged or marginalized by the conventional trading systems.
Fair Trade works to eradicate institutional as well as individual acts of injustice including:
bribery, child labor, corruption, destruction of the environment, exploitation of persons or resources, gender inequality, hunger, poverty and slavery.
